SHORTAGE OF GPs

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Practice is experiencing a shortage of GPs at present and we are having to prioritise appointments. Today we are only able to deal with urgent issues and emergencies. We ask that for anything routine you call back in a few days when we hope to have more capacity as we are actively looking for locum cover. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this causes.

In the last year the Practice has had 5 GPs leave (3 retired). We also have one GP currently on maternity leave. We have successfully managed to recruit 2 salaried GPs during this period. However in April 2018, the GP on maternity leave is returning to work, a new GP partner starts (Dr Fiona Carnegie) and our long-term locum (Dr Fiona Forsyth) will be with us full-time.

Preference of Practitioner

Patients are registered with the Practice, not with an individual GP. For administrative reasons, your medical card will be issued in the name of one of the doctors; however, you can at any time express a preference for a particular doctor, for either all of your medical needs or on a case-by-case basis. This preference will be recorded in your medical notes and we will do our best to respect your choice. However, not all the doctors in the Practice provide all services and specific doctors in the Practice may not be immediately available.
