Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Practice is experiencing a shortage of GPs at present and we are having to prioritise appointments. Today we are only able to deal with urgent issues and emergencies. We ask that for anything routine you call back in a few days when we hope to have more capacity as we are actively looking for locum cover. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this causes.

In the last year the Practice has had 5 GPs leave (3 retired). We also have one GP currently on maternity leave. We have successfully managed to recruit 2 salaried GPs during this period. However in April 2018, the GP on maternity leave is returning to work, a new GP partner starts (Dr Fiona Carnegie) and our long-term locum (Dr Fiona Forsyth) will be with us full-time.

Practice Management

Mr Thomas Nelson (m)

The Practice Manager ensures that the Practice runs smoothly and deals with any suggestions and complaints from patients.

The Practice staff aim to meet the needs of the patient, within the constraints imposed by demands on appointments, telephone enquiries and repeat prescriptions, without compromising patient safety, comfort and confidentiality.

All staff are trained to meet your needs in making appointments, taking messages including home visit requests, dealing with repeat prescription requests and informing patients of test results (test results are only given to patients by clerical staff when permitted to do so by the GP).
