The Lanarkshire Eye-health Network Scheme (LENS) Whatever your eye problem your first port of call should be an optometrist. An optometrist is the best person to assess urgent eye problems, check for eye disorders and treat eye conditions. They have the professional training and necessary equipment to assess most eye problems.

The Community Addiction Recovery Service (CAReS) is a community-based integrated alcohol and drug treatment service, designed to support adults (16 +) with their recovery from alcohol or drug dependency problems.

Being physically active and eating a healthy balanced diet are important for not only our physical health, but also our emotional and mental health. Lanarkshire’s Weight Management Service offers expert and practical advice to anyone who requires support to lead a healthier lifestyle.

There are 4 Integrated Community Support Teams (ICSTs) in South Lanarkshire who provide adults with health & social care needs support, advice and rehabilitation within the home environment. Each team is made up of community nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and support workers. The aim of the service is to support you to stay in your own home and avoid unnecessary hospital admissions.  We offer support, treatment and rehabilitation to help you to improve your health and support.

It’s good to be prepared for emergencies that can happen at any time, such as severe weather, floods and loss of power. The Scottish Government has a Ready Scotland website that provides a wealth of information about preparing for and dealing with emergencies
